I am 20 years old, am from Germany and I just graduated from school last year (2013). In my free time I usually like to do sports like volleyball.
I didn’t really know what I wanted to do after school, what I wanted from live and what I wanted to study or where and I’m still hoping to discover more about this during this year. So I decided to go away for one year, one year doing something completely different from all the experiences I ever had, because I think it’s the best way to learn about yourself by being in a completely different surrounding, meeting a lot of interesting, new people and by doing something you have never done before. So far I am enjoying this project a lot; we have a lot of freedom to discover about traditions, different people and interesting places in small villages around Brasov.
I didn’t decide from the beginning to go especially to Romania, I just wanted to go away, somewhere I have never been before and a place which is different from home. I really fell in love with the mountains and the nature here in Romania and I have the feeling that one year is not enough to discover all the nice places. Also people are really nice and helpful as I discovered so far and I feel really free and happy in this country.
