“Akmentiņ, lec laukā!” – “Little stone, jump out!” (Latvia)

Time: 15 min.

Recommended age: Suitable for all age groups.

Size of group: 4-8 people.

Time for preparation: 2 min.

Material/Resources: 1 bench, 1 little stone, motivated players.

Purpose: Practice concentration and attention.

Place/Location: Better outside but still great fun inside.

Description: All the players, except one, are sitting in a row, with their arms hooked in each other. The team leader will swipe through the closed hands of each player and secretly drop the tiny stone into the hands of one of them. Afterwards, the leader announces the catchy phrase “Akmentiņ, lec laukā!”. This is a signal for the stone owner to try and jump out of the row which the others logically aim to avoid. The successful “row breaker” becomes the leader for the next round. This game can be continued until your armlets hurt.

Testimonials/Impressions: It is a fun game not demanding too much brain capacity which makes it ideal for in-between times. You can let off energy and learn how to use your strength. It is unavoidable to laugh loudly and energetically when one of the participants is being dragged on the floor again.
